PMB STT Telkom 2007

Tomorrow will be the first day of PMB STT Telkom. Oh ya…what is PMB? PMB is abbreviation of Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (Registration of New Collage Students). PMB will be held from June 25 until June 30 2007.

The number of participant is about 1000 persons, but there will be 4000 persons in PMB. Why? Because when we do the registration, usually our mother, father, and sister are accompany us. What a happy family, isn’t it? :)

Since there would be many people in PMB, many of my friends become new entrepreneur. They sell many kind of things such as food, uniform, stationery, and soon.

I hope that PMB will be done well.

Last but not least, I would say "Welcome to STT Telkom my brothers :)"

E-radio is also software. Since then, e-radio designing phase is also same with designing phase in software engineering. There are five steps that should be passed in software engineering : Requirement Analysis and Specification, Design, Coding, Testing, and Maintenance.

Let us discuss then :

1. Requirement Analysis and Specification
System analysis is done to know required things that will be needed in the system.

2. Design
System design will be explained in flow chart and context diagrams.

3. Coding
Coding is a process to translate the system design into application form.

4. Testing
The application must be test to check bugs that might be there in the application.

5. Maintenance
The application have to be maintained; so that the application is always in the good condition.

The number of visitors
The average number of page views per visitor – a high number would indicate that the average visitors go deep inside the site, possibly because they like it or find it useful. Conversely, it could indicate an inability to find desired information easily.

Domain classes – all levels of the IP Addressing information required to deliver Webpages and content.
Busy times – the most popular viewing time of the site would show when would be the best time to do promotional campaigns and when would be the most ideal to perform maintenance
Most requested pages – the most popular pages
Most requested entry pages – the entry page is the first page viewed by a visitor and shows which are the pages most attracting visitors
Most requested exit pages – the most requested exit pages could help find bad pages, broken links or the exit pages may have a popular external link
Top paths – a path is the sequence of pages viewed by visitors from entry to exit, with the top paths identifying the way most customers go through the site
Referrers; The host can track the (apparent) source of the links and determine which sites are generating the most traffic for a particular page.

With the explanation above, we could say that site traffic could analyze how popular is our web.

E-radio as one of tools in CRM

Actually my research is about How to build an e-radio as one of tools in Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Francoise Tourniaire, in his book "Just Enough CRM" (2003) said, "The CRM name and abbreviation were invented specifically to refer to the then-emerging class of tools that automate the customer-contact functions."

Other definition of CRM, based on Wikipedia, is a broad term that covers concepts used by companies to manage their relationships with customers, including the capture, storage and analysis of customer information.

Professor Adrian Payne, in his book "HANDBOOK OF CRM: Achieving Excellence in Customer Management" said, CRM is a business approach that seeks to create, develop and enhance relationships with carefully targeted customers in order to improve customer value and corporate profitability and thereby maximize shareholder value.

In the same book, Professor Adrian Payne classify CRM into three types:

First type: Operational CRM– This is the area that is concerned with the automation of business processes involving front-office customer contact points. These areas include sales automation, marketing automation and customer service automation. Historically, operational CRM has been a major area of enterprise expenditure as companies develop call centers or adopt sales force automation systems.CRM vendors focus on offering an increasingly wide range of operational CRM solutions.

Second type: Analytical CRM – This involves the capture, storage, organization, analysis, interpretation and use of data created from the operational side of the business. Integration of analytical CRM solutions with operational CRM solutions is an important consideration.

Third type: Collaborative CRM – This involves the use of collaborative services and infrastructure to make interaction between a company and its multiple channels possible. This enables interaction between customers, the enterprise and its employees.

Mara Bandung e-radio

Mara Bandung Radio is one of the Indonesian radio stations which has used internet radio (e-radio) as tool of broadcasting. But the e-radio is not been maximize yet. The use of this e-radio is only to relay the frequency of radio station for several towns in West Java.

In the other side, some e-radio (such as MQ FM, Prambors radio, and Radio Tarbiyah), are used as a tool to maintain (or to get) the listeners who live outside radio-conventional service area.

Several method have been conducted -such as advertise it in Mara Bandung Radio (conventional) Station, put the website link at letterhead, and advertise it in mass media, but it did not give significant result. The site traffic has shown it. There are less than ten users that access the e-radio a day. This is not good condition.

The popularity of marabandung radio is also in bad condition. Chart below will show how poor is Marabandung's popularity in Internet based on Google Search result. The data took in April 19 2007, 11:26 AM (GMT +7)
